Diego Solorzano

Electrical Engineer & Photonics Researcher

Hi, I'm Diego, an electrical engineer specializing in semiconductors and optical electronics, currently pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of California, Irvine.

I’ve worked on a wide range of engineering projects from PCB design to computational optics. My primary interest is the physics and engineering of optoelectronic and photonic devices. I’m particularly interested in nanoscale light–matter interaction, photonic materials, and the design of optical systems with real technological impact.

About

Skills

I'm a fourth‑year EE at UCI, specializing in semiconductors and optical electronics. My technical interests include semiconductor fabrication, MEMS devices, optical devices, nano-optics, and quantum computing. I've taken extensive coursework in these areas, and have a strong foundation in the principles and applications of each.

Outside of academics, I love all things music related, especially playing the guitar and piano. You can find me at the piano making original music or improvising on the guitar.
You can check out my music on Spotify here!

I also really enjoy reading novels, doing photography, and rock climbing!
